Wembdon FC, along with everyone else are concerned about the latest COVID-19 updates.
As a junior football club with over 250 players, our priority is the safety of players, coaches, parents and match day spectators.
With Somerset now in a tier 4 from 26th December the Taunton & District Youth League have suspended all matches until the 23rd January 2021.
Despite the guidelines allowing youth football to continue, the Executive Committee of Wembdon FC have taken the decision to suspend all training activities within the club until this date.
This decision has not been made lightly, everyone is aware of the importance of sport for health and wellbeing. However the safety of our community is paramount and therefore we believe this to be the correct course of action.
With the support of the Somerset FA & the Taunton & District Youth League we will be reviewing the situation after the latest Government tier review on the 13th January 2021.
